The other day, my housemate and I watched a video called 30 Cities to Visit Before You’re 30. (It’s a great video—lots of pretty pictures and fun facts about the cities.) My housemate and I both love to travel, and she’s been to a bunch of places I haven’t (mainly in Asia), so together we were able to check off a number of the cities on the list.
Happy Friday! Here are a few photos that gave me a laugh during my Europe trip.
Nestled in the vibrant Tuscan hills surrounding Florence is the snug, beautiful town of Fiesole. A summer vacation destination of literary legends like Gertrude Stein and a prominent, romantic setting in the classic novel A Room with a View by E.M. Forster, Fiesole is a charming daytrip option that is walkable from Florence and that has incredible views of the Italian countryside.
Possibly even more so than Paris, in my opinion, Holland is a food lover’s paradise. Lynette and I spent about four days basically wandering from restaurant to restaurant in Amsterdam with a few stops at museums in between. One of my favorite memories from study abroad is picnicking in a park in Amsterdam with cheese, a baguette, prosecco, and chocolate cheesecake from the supermarket.
Time for a quick life update! I’m off crutches now, so I can move around a lot more easily—just in time for the arrival of beautiful spring weather (we were getting blizzards here less than two weeks ago!). I have just a couple more weeks of being careful on my foot. I’m looking forward to getting back to working out and swing dancing very soon, both of which I have missed a lot.
I visited Disneyland Paris last spring. Previously, I had been to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida. Disney World is still my favorite, but Disneyland Paris is charming and has some fun attractions that the other parks don’t.
I’m pretty sure one of the main things my travel buddies remember about me is that I would drag them around a city looking for the best ice cream.
