When I think of England,
I think of us,

I had about a week and a half and all of Wales to get through.
Everyone travels differently. Some people like pounding the pavement, perusing museums, and tracking down attractions. Others prefer relaxing and shopping, and still others like experiencing a place from a local’s point of view by exploring parks and eateries. Maybe you are a mix of all three or none of the above. Happy end of August! Since I’m not a student anymore, a shift in season doesn’t change up my daily routine very much, but pretty much everyone I know in Minnesota is a fan of fall nonetheless. Before we snuggle up at home for a long Minnesota winter, we enjoy the heck out of fall. The cool air is a relief after a summer of oppressive heat; the bustle in the city dies down a little bit; we pull out cozy sweaters and blankets for bonfires and hayrides; and fall favorites like apple crisp and pumpkin pie start to appear.
When I was studying abroad last spring, I got used to hopping on a bus and wandering all over England. My days were filled with hiking, exploring, and adventures. And when I got home and started working full-time right away, it was kind of a rude awakening.
I don’t like water, but I like the pale reflection of the sun stippled over the waves in the haze of evening. Bushy trees on land stand out starkly against the water that mirrors the sky.
